Great diner food, exceptional biscuits. We live close enough to walk, which is a great perk. Toddler friendly. Definitely recommend Mama's - it's a hometown place worthy of your support.
Pros: Local KC business, biscuits, service
Cons: Smoking section

This used to be an ok restaurant but they got cheap. The owners are incredibly cheap tightwads, they will do nothing for the client unless they make money from it, even when the food is bad. The chicken fry steak is small and frozen made from a manufacturer and tastes like it. The mashed potatoes are half real/ half powdered. On top of it they lie about it. They say they make it! Yet the servers will tell you the truth. Many of the servers are rude--it comes from the management. The only thing going for them is that it is gay friendly--only if you want to be the subject of rumors. They talk about customers in front of OTHER CUSTOMERS! Stay away from this place. It wasn't too bad when they started but the prices are too high and the quality is either poor or unpredictable. The meatloaf is pretty disgusting too. I regret I ever supported this biz. New location hasn't made anything better, in fact it is worse.

Great breakfast selection, including Mama's 66 - 66 different omelets to choose from - or make your own combination. Decent coffee, too - a must for any self-respecting breakfast joint. Seating is limited - especially on weekends. Deep fried french toast is to die for! Also one of the only places around that knows how to cook an over-medium egg.
